Bobby Dudzik slipped in front
of the modified feature with Eddie Bentfield, Paul Wagner and Steven Schultz who
came the second furthest to race, all in a tight formation. By lap five Brian
Holtz was on the move taking over third, then second one lap later. Dudzik was
holding an impressive margin but on lap eight, he lost power.
Holtz was now the leader, taking the win by a small margin over fast timer Dale
Prunty who looked like he’d over take Holtz but fell short in the non stop race
with the second best finish of the day. Chuck Rein who came the furthest and
wedged a real battle with Prunty was third. Wagner grabbed fourth, with Bentfield
next, Steven Schultz was sixth, Dudzik seventh and Justin Fischer eighth.

Rick Ottman pulled away from
the field and posted the win in the 30-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest
Modified feature.

Russ Moberly drove into the initial lead while Ottman raced into second place at
the start ahead of Larry Reihbrandt, Wes Biswell, and Jeff Holtz. Moberly was
able to cling to the lead during the first half of the event over Ottman and
Reighbrandt as the top six remained clumped together in a group. Ottman was able
to race around Moberly for the lead on the outside on lap 16 and gradually began
to pull away as the laps wound down. Ottman took the checkered flag for the win
over Moberly, who capped off his strong run with a second place finish.
Reighbrandt was third followed by Holtz and Jason Feyereisen.
Dale Prunty finished in seventh place and was crowned the 2003 Eldorado Trailer
Sales Midwest Modified track champion as he dominated the division throughout
the season.
Moberly’s strong night also included a win in the dash while Feyereisen was the
fastest qualifier at 12.135 seconds.

Dale Prunty continued his
domination in the Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified division this season
as he cruised to his seventh feature win of the year in the 30-lap main event.
Wes Biswell and Steve Schultz led the field to the green flag with Schultz
edging ahead to take the lead at the completion of the first lap. Schultz and
Biswell ran nose-to-tail, while Prunty went to work, pressuring Larry
Reighbrandt and Ken Wills to crack the top five. Dennis Prunty spun in turn four
on lap two to produce a
caution flag
as the cars of Jeff Holtz and Jason Feyereisen ducked into the pits to fix minor
damage that resulted from their efforts to dodge the stalled car of Prunty.
Schultz led Biswell and Dale Prunty on the restart and Prunty wasted no time in
working his way by Biswell for second. Once around Biswell, Prunty quickly
tracked down Schultz and took over the lead near the race’s halfway mark with an
inside pass off turn four. The last half of the race ran caution-free as Prunty
checked out on the field and drove to the victory over Schultz and Wills, who
was able to get around Biswell for third. Reighbrandt finished fifth.
Prunty was not through winning on the night as he also charged to victory in the
18-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified Race of Champions. Prunty started
on the outside of the front row and raced to the lead on lap four, passing Ken
Wills for the top spot. Prunty drove to victory from there, taking the checkered
flag ahead of Wills, Jeff Holtz, Larry Reighbrandt, and Wes Biswell.
Biswell won the fast dash and Prunty also set fast time with a quick lap of
12.194 seconds.
08-29-03 - Columbus 151 Speedway
The Modifieds put on a great
show for the fans all evening. Ron Schmidtt held the early lead in the feature,
but would have to settle for second to Ken Wills. The race was burdened with
several spins. David Naumann spun in turn two, involved with Joel Clossey. Roy
Aitchison spun on lap fifteen. Cindy Smith palyed it safe, and pulled off on lap
twenty. Roger Longseth spun on lap twenty-one, right in front of the leader. The
door-to-door racing was hot, and Wills narrowly escaped Schmidtt's former home
track advantage , claiming the victory.
Former Street Stock competitor Schmidtt took his car around in turn three,
bringing a complete restart on the field in the first dash. Running side-by-side
all race, Schmidtt was forced to come up through a three-wide situation before
taking the lead. Chuck Eberhardt and Roger Schmid made contact out of turn four
and spun causing both to retire from the race.

Dale Prunty charged to the win
in the Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified 30-lap feature, holding off Ken
Wills in the process.
Wills led the opening laps, bringing the inside line of Rick Ottman, Prunty, and
Jeff Holtz with him, falling in line ahead of Jason Feyereisen and Wes Biswell.
Prunty began his march forward early by capturing second place from Ottman when
his car kicked loose off turn four on lap three. Five laps later, Prunty was
able to draw alongside Wills for t he
lead and powered by to take command of the race on lap ten. Meanwhile behind the
top two, Holtz, Biswell, and Steve Schultz were busy racing for third place.
With Prunty and Wills comfortably out front, Holtz powered his way into third
place while Ottman and Biswell raced hard for fourth place. The field became
strung out over the final laps, and Prunty drove away to his sixth feature win
of the season. Wills finished second and Holtz took the checkered flag in third.
Biswell advanced forward to finish fourth while Schultz edged Ottman.
In other Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified action, Wills won the dash and
Prunty was the fastest qualifier at 12.364 seconds.

Jeff Holtz left everyone behind as he simply drove
off to his second feature victory of the season in the Eldorado Trailer Sales
Midwest Modified 30-lap main event.
Holtz immediately rocketed into the lead at the
start over Russ Moberly and Steve Schultz while Rick Ottman and Dale Prunty
contested fourth place. Holtz extended his lead on the field as Ottman and
Prunty moved
up as
Schultz began to fade back. Moberly’s good run took a detour near the halfway
mark when he became temporarily crossed up in turn four and by the time he
straightened out, both Prunty and Ottman raced by for second and third
respectively.
Once free of traffic, Prunty tried to reel in
Holtz as Ottman became wrapped up in a battle for third with Wes Biswell, who
had just finished getting around Moberly a few laps earlier. Holtz maintained
his lead all the way to the checkered flag, scoring the win by over three
seconds ahead of Prunty. Ottman held off Biswell for third while Moberly capped
off the night by finishing fifth.
In other Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified action, Holtz added another win
to his collection on the night by taking the victory in the fast dash while
Prunty set fast time after posting a 12.273 second lap.

The Eldorado Trailer Sales
Midwest Modified feature had a familiar conclusion as Dale Prunty raced to
another win in the 30-lap event.
Wes Biswell took the green flag from the fourth starting spot and used the
outside lane to work his way into the lead by passing Steve Schultz on lap five.
While Biswell held down the lead, Larry Reighbrandt and Dan Miller began to
dispute second place in a side-by-side battle as Prunty, Bryan Holtz, and
Schultz ran in formation behind them. Reighbrandt and Miller ended their tussle
on lap eight when contact between the two caused Miller to clip the frontstretch
wall and spin into turn one. As Miller’s car slid up the track, Holtz had
nowhere to go and collected Miller, momentarily blocking the high groove of the
speedway and by the time the dust settled, Schultz, Ken Wills, and Ron Schmitt
were also involved in the incident. Of the cars involved, only Schmitt was able
to continue as the race was halted under the red flag.

Biswell led Prunty on the restart and Prunty wasted little time in using the
high side to challenge for the top spot. Prunty remained persistent on the top
of the speedway as Biswell’s valiant effort on the inside eventually gave way to
Prunty’s charge when the Allenton native took the lead for good on lap ten. Once
out front, Prunty began to distance himself from the rest of the field, as
Biswell was the only one who could keep within sight of the leader. The action
soon shifted to the race for third behind the lead duo as Rick Ottman, Schmitt,
and Reighbrandt staged a three-car battle for third place. Prunty remained
unchallenged during the later stages and raced to his fifth feature win of the
season, collecting an additional $100 from Michael Hartman Well Drilling in the
process. Biswell finished second while Ottman held off Schmitt and Reighbrandt
for third.
In other Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified action, Dan Miller took the
checkered flag first in the fast dash and Prunty was the fastest qualifier with
a lap of 12.379 seconds.

Dale Prunty
fended off Wes Biswell to capture the win in the 30-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales
Midwest Modified feature.
Jason Feyereisen and Biswell started from the front row and at the drop of the
green, Feyereisen led the opening lap before Biswell took over the top spot on
the next circuit. Biswell began to open up his lead over Feyereisen while Prunty
became locked in a multi-car battle with Ken Wills and Larry Reighbrandt for
third. By lap nine, Prunty was able to overtake Feyereisen for second place and
set his sights on Biswell who continued to enjoy a commanding lead. Rick Ottman,
Dan Miller, and Jeff Holtz soon joined the cluster of cars disputing third place
as Prunty began to close in on Biswell for the lead. Prunty caught Biswell on
lap 17 and was actually able to pull alongside just as the caution flag flew
when Dan Miller spun on the frontstretch. During the slowdown, Holtz was
determined to have had a hand in the incident and he joined Miller at the tail
of the field while Biswell was scored as the leader for the restart.
Prunty immediately jumped to the outside lane as racing resumed and once again
pulled alongside Biswell for the lead. While Biswell and Prunty raced
side-by-side, Ottman broke away from the pack in third and quickly closed on the
lead duo. Prunty established himself as the leader on lap 23 as Biswell remained
in his tire tracks while Ottman continued to close in a hurry. Ottman made it a
three car race for the lead over the final five laps but neither he nor Biswell
had anything left for Prunty who held off both drivers and scored the win.
Biswell finished a close second followed by Ottman while Steve Schultz and Paul
Wagner completed the top five finishers.
In other Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified action, Jeff Holtz won the fast
dash and Prunty set fast time at 12.194 seconds.

Dale Prunty drove off from the field in the
30-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified feature and captured the win in
commanding fashion.
Paul Wagner edged Jason Feyereisen to snag the early lea d
while Bryan Holtz, Rick Ottman, and Prunty fought hard for third. The caution
flag appeared early as Ron Schmitt spun on lap six, bunching up the field with
Wagner leading Feyereisen, Holtz, Ottman, and Prunty. Wagner was able to get a
good jump on the field as racing resumed as Feyereisen faded a bit, while Prunty
moved to the inside of Holtz for second place on lap ten.
Once in second place, Prunty quickly caught
Wagner and used the outside lane to drive around for the lead just before the
halfway mark. With Prunty and Wagner running nose-to-tail at the front, Holtz,
Ottman, and Wes Biswell raced hard for third. The field stabilized until lap 25
when the fierce battle for third resulted in Holtz and Biswell tangling in turn
three, slowing the field under the caution flag and allowing Wagner to close up
to Prunty’s bumper for the restart.
Prunty was able to pull away as the green flag
reappeared, leaving Wagner to deal with Larry Reighbrandt who advanced forward
to challenge for second. Prunty drove off to a commanding win while Wagner
wrapped up his best race of the season with a second place finish. Reighbrandt
was third followed by Ottman and Steve Schultz.
In other Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified action, Wagner nailed down the
win in the fast dash and Prunty set fast time with a lap of 12.179 seconds.

Jeff Holtz drove to a
convincing win in the 30-lap Midwest Modified feature over Wes Biswell and Larry
Reighbrandt.
Paul Wagner and Ron Schmitt battled for the lead at the drop of the green flag
before Wagner took sole possession of the top spot on lap two. Roger Schmid spun
in turn four to bring out the first caution with Wagner leading Schmitt, Steve
Schultz, and Holtz. Wagner maintained his advantage as racing resumed and Holtz
and Wes Biswell went to work in an effort to move forward with Holtz grabbing
second place on lap eight while Biswell moved into third.
With Wagner continuing to lead, the second caution of the race flew on lap 12
when Dan Miller spun while exiting turn two and Holtz took advantage of the
situation by drawing alongside Wagner on the restart. Holtz took the lead a lap
later just before the third caution appeared when Dale Prunty and Schmitt
tangled on the backstretch. Holtz pulled away from the field when the green flag
waved, leaving Wagner, Biswell, Reighbrandt, and Ken Wills all stacked up in a
four-car battle for second. While Holtz’s lead continued to grow, Biswell
claimed second place on lap 25 over Wagner as Wills and Reighbrandt disputed
third place. Holtz drove off to the win over Biswell as Reighbrandt took third
place at the finish over Wills. Wagner finished fifth.
In other Midwest Modified action, Steven Schultz won the fast dash as Dale
Prunty set the fastest lap with of 12.279 seconds.

The Prunty family theme continued with the
Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified 30-lap feature as Dale Prunty scored the
win over Jeff Holtz.
Steve Schultz led the opening laps over Paul Wagner as Prunty fell into line in
third at the start ahead of Holtz and Larry Reihbrandt. Prunty quickly took over
the top spot on lap four as he went from third place to the lead by using the
inside to get around both Wagner and Schultz. Prunty’s lead continued to grow
throughout the race while Holtz and Reihbrandt worked their way into second and
third. Prunty’s advantage grew to nearly a half lap on lap 20 when a slight rain
shower began to fall, eventually delaying the race with a caution flag on lap
22.
The shower was brief and the track dried
quickly, allowing the event to continue a short time later with Prunty in the
lead over Holtz, Reihbrandt, Rick Ottman, and Ken Wills. Holtz and Reihbrandt
immediately started to battle for second on the restart, allowing Prunty to move
resume his advantage. On the final lap, Wills and Ottman tangled in turn three
and collected Dan Miller in the incident as the yellow and checkered flags were
displayed signaling the even to the race with Prunty taking the win over Holtz
and Reihbrandt. Wills recovered from the incident to finish fourth and Wes
Biswell was fifth.
In other Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified action, Ken Wills set fast time
with a 12.265 second lap, while Dale Prunty won the fast dash.

DALE PRUNTY BY INCHES FOR
MODIFIED FEATURE
Cindi Smith (33) and Al
Jantz (101) led the field to the green flag for the start of the Modified
Feature run. Both leaders fade back as Dale Prunty (17) takes command.
By lap three Prunty and Ken Wills (5) are side by side for the lead.
A caution flag slowed the
action on lap six, when John Greenberg (1) and Eddie Bentfield (14) got together
coming out of turn two. Dale Prunty had enough of an edge to lead the
field back to green flag racing. Ken Wills followed in second.
The battle was for third between, Joel Clossey (16) and Ron Schmitt (6).
The lead looked as if it
could change as the 52 of Chad Walen was flying towards the front. Walen
worked to the side of Prunty, but Dale holds him off. Ken Wills throws
himself back into the mix as he advances on the inside. With ten to go,
Prunty and Wills are fighting once again for the lead.
Slower traffic is about to
play into the action, with Prunty and Wills side by side. Prunty
uses the slower car as a pick and assumes command of the race. A caution
again slows the action on lap nineteen. Three cars bang together in the
three-four corner. Ken Wills, who was fighting for the lead, cut a tire a
had to head for the pits. Prunty continued to show the way, but Chad Walen
was coming hard on the outside. One more caution with two to go, when
Jason Feyereisen (90) loops around in turn four.
The green flag waves, as
racing quickly resumed. Walen zips to the side of Prunty, once again.
The white flag signaled one more lap. It's door handle to door handle, and
a drag race to the finish line. Dale Prunty of Allenton, by inches, wins
the modified feature. Chad Walen of, Prior Lake, MN, had to settle for
second. Joel Clossey, out of Beloit cruised through
for third, with Ron Schmitt, of Jackson fourth, and Eddie Bentfield of Waukesha,
completing the top five.
MORE MODIFIED RESULTS:
John Gruenberg, of Madison set the time to beat with a 14.554. The heat
race had Chad Walen dominating.

Rick Ottman turned back all
challenges en route to a flag to flag win in the 30-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales
Midwest Modified 30-lap feature.
Ottman’s first challenge came from Ron Schmitt during the opening laps as both
drivers raced wheel to wheel for the top spot with Ottman edging Schmitt at the
line upon the completion of each lap. Ottman held the inside and that proved to
be the preferred line as he took sole possession of the lead on lap five while
Steve Schultz moved up to challenge Schmitt for second. Dale Prunty and Wes
Biswell were lurking directly behind Schultz and Schmitt and soon all four
drivers were embroiled in the race for second place as Ottman began to ease away
from the field. The hard racing for second left Schmitt out to dry on the
outside and he faded back when Schultz, Biswell, and Prunty all drove by as the
event neared the halfway point.
Debris in turn one produced the lone caution flag of the race on lap 22,
bunching up the field and allowing Schultz, Biswell, and Prunty to close in on
Ottman. Biswell wasted no time on the restart and dove to the inside of Schultz
to muscle his way into second place. While Biswell was making his move into
second, Ottman was racing away from the field, leaving Biswell and Schultz to
battle with Prunty for the runner-up spot. Once clear of traffic, Biswell was
unable to catch Ottman and he raced to the win. Biswell finished second while
Schultz was able to get around Prunty for third. Ken Wills also was able to
advance ahead in the closing laps and he captured fourth place, forcing Prunty
to settle for fifth
Ottman also collected $100 for his win courtesy of Ralph’s Auto Body.

Ken Wills drove to his first
feature victory of the season in the 30-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest
Modified main event.
Steve Schultz charged ahead of Jason Feyereisen at the start to lead the opening
laps before Gregg Pawelski used the outside lane to challenge for the lead on
lap four. Pawelski’s move to the front was short-lived however as on the
following lap, engine troubles forced him to retire from the event with the
yellow flag flying. Feyereisen led as racing resumed with Schultz and Wills
close behind while Larry Reihbrandt and Dale Prunty closed in on the top three.
Paul Wagner spun in turn one on lap ten and was unable to re-fire his car before
the field caught up to him, resulting in Schultz getting tangled up in the
incident and producing another caution flag. Wills raced ahead to a sizeable
advantage when racing was underway as Prunty and Reihbrandt began to weave their
way forward. By lap 15, Wills enjoyed a comfortable lead with Prunty holding
down second place and Reihbrandt running in third. Wills advantage was erased on
lap 28 when a spin by Rick Ottman and Roger Schmid slowed the field under the
yellow flag, setting up a two lap dash for the finish. Wills was up to the
challenge and he held off Prunty and Reihbrandt for the victory, which was worth
an extra $1,000 courtesy of Enders Corp. and Design 2 Construct. Wes Biswell was
fourth and Jeff Holtz finished fifth.

Dale Prunty took the win in
the Midwest modified feature over Jeff Holtz and Larry Reihbrandt as the event
was shortened by five laps due to an incident on the track.
Russ Grade led the opening laps and battled side-by-side with Gregg Pawelski
while Prunty, Holtz, and Reihbrandt were in a tightly bunched
pack right
behind the leaders. Contact between Pawelski and Grade caused Grade to spin
backwards into the front straightaway wall on lap 16, producing a caution flag.
The event was briefly red flagged as Grade was transported to a local hospital
for precautionary measures. Prunty took over the lead for the restart and
battled with Holtz for the top spot as Reihbrandt moved up to join them in a
three-car break-away at the front of the field. Dan Miller developed a problem
on lap 25 and bounced off the turn two wall, drawing another caution. As
Miller’s car slid to the infield a brief fire broke out on the machine and as
the safety crew extinguished it, the event was declared official with Prunty
picking up the win. Holtz finished second and Reihbrandt was third. Wes Biswell
and Steve Shultz finished fourth and fifth respectively.
In other Midwest modified action, Rick Ottman won the fast dash and Wes Biswell

Wes Biswell collected a birthday gift as he won
the 30-lap Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified 30-lap feature.
The event got off to a rocky start when Roger Schmid broke an axle during hot
laps but once the event got underway, Gregg Pawelski took the early lead over
Steve Schulz and Brian Holtz. Pawelski pulled ahead as Dale Prunty advanced
forward,
passing Holtz and Schulz to take second. The hard, intense racing up front
created a logjam of cars and Russ Grade became a victim of the gridlock and slid
into the infield to produce the first caution. Prunty raced into the lead on the
restart as Biswell and Pawelski became locked in a battle for second. Biswell
took over the position and began to chase Prunty for the lead as Ken Wills moved
into the top five.
A second caution appeared on lap 22 when Larry
Reihbrandt and Jason Feyereisen tangled on the backstretch, setting up an eight
lap dash to the finish. Biswell remained glued to Prunty’s tire tracks on the
restart as Schulz, David McCardle, and Russ Moberly slid into the second turn
wall to slow the event under the yellow flag once again. Biswell took to the
outside groove during the final five laps and was able to edge ahead as both he
and Prunty took the white flag. Biswell maintained his momentum heading into
turn one and emerged with the lead, holding on to capture the victory over
Prunty and Holtz. Wills finished fourth and Pawelski was fifth.

In there race, Cindi Smith and Eddie Bentfield sat on the pole. Bentfield jetted

one point of the race, Prunty actually pushed Bentfield down the front straight.
Coming hard on the outside was Joel Clossey, making his climb towards the front.
With eight laps to go, Clossey powered up to the front of line, as leader
Bentfield got twisted in one of the corners. The caution flag slowed the action
with five laps to go. Clossey and Prunty tangled coming out of turn two. Prunty
smacks the back straight wall and heads for the pits. Clossey gets sent to the
