Rich Snyder recovered from an early spin to claim the Modified feature.
Dale Prunty was the early leader in their 25-lap feature event. Snyder
would loop his Modified around in turn one on the second lap, sending him to
the rear of the field on the re-start.
On the re-start, Tim Plummer got together with Prunty coming out of turn two
causing Prunty to get a left rear flat tire. Plummer would take over the
lead.
Snyder would work his way back to the front. With four laps to go, Snyder
caught up to the rear bumper of Plummer. As the two were coming to the
white flag, Snyder would get on the outside of Plummer going into turn 3.
The two were side-by-side as they took the white flag. Snyder would pull
out to the lead as the two headed down the back stretch for the final time.
It was Snyder’s second consecutive Fest win with Plummer hanging on to
second.

The area modifieds both dirt and paved
track cars together, all with dirt tires on their mounts. Al Keppert led the
first two laps before Tim Bell moved from his fifth row starting position
and into the led. Creating some more excitement Bill Tandetzke spun in front
of most of the field, while being lapped. Everyone missed him and the race
continued, with Bell way out front. Fast timer Wes Biswell moved up to
second on lap eight, with Joey Bentfield next. Dale Punity gained third from
Bentfield on lap ten.Bell went on to win the event, just ahead of Biswell,
Punity, Jay Crichton, Joe Osterman and Bentfield. 60 % of the field came in
on Sunday and did not time because they were at Chilton on Saturday for
their big show. That made for an even better race and the biggest field in
seven years.

Qualifying
for the USA Modifieds was scrapped for the entire 43 car field after only a
portion of the cars were able to take times due to a list mist that set in,
stopping action for about a half-hour. Rain wiped out the 4 Cylinder event.
Ann Palmer of National City presented trophies to the winners.
Ft. Wayne, IN driver Tony Dager survived a wild crash on the initial start
of the 50 lap main event and led every circuit on his way to victory in the
main event. On the complete re-start, Dager sped away to grab the point as
things settled down for a while. As the laps wound down, Dager had plenty of
company in the form of Bob Curry. Curry looked high and low for a way around
Dager but to no avail. Curry dipped low on the final 2 laps looking for the
win, but Dager held on for the victory over Curry, Rodney Scott, Nick
Clemens, Tim Burkett, Jon Beach, Dennis Prunty, Bud Camp, Steve Curry and
Damon Breedlove. Todd Griggs and Prunty captured the 12 lap B Main wins.
Johnny Belott captured the 6 lap dash, but suffered a flat tire on the
original start in the main event. Tim Burkett was the winner of the fast
heat.

Slinger Speedway - Slinger, WI
Dale Prunty has been
invincible in the Midwest Modified division of late and Sunday night proved
to be no exception as he charged to his sixth feature win in a row.
Joe Ottmann led the field to the green flag and he led the first two laps
before Wes Biswell drove by on the outside and into the lead. Behind the
lead duo, Ron Schmitt, John Kruschel, Jason Feyereisen, and Steve Huelsbeck
battled for position until Kruschel broke loose on lap five and spun in turn
two. With no other options, both Feyereisen and Huelsbeck piled into
Kruschel’s machine and the field was slowed under the yellow flag. Biswell
led Schmitt and Ottmann as racing resumed while Prunty advanced his way up
to fourth place. Prunty took over third place by lap nine and three laps
later he used the inside to slide by Schmitt for the second spot exiting
turn four. By the time he entered turn one, Prunty was in the outside lane
and alongside Biswell for the lead. Biswell held his ground in the inside
lane and both drivers race door to door for the lead before Prunty pulled
ahead on lap 12. While Prunty led, Biswell did not let him get away and he
had enough for a last lap shot at the win. Biswell tried but could not
complete a pass for the lead and Prunty took the checkered flag about a half
car length ahead of Biswell. Schmitt crossed the stripe in third place while
Feyereisen and Ottmann were fourth and fifth respectively.
Huelsbeck was the winner of the Midwest Modified fast dash and Steven Schulz
set fast time at 12.341 seconds.

Slinger Speedway - Slinger, WI
No one has been able to unseat Dale Prunty for a feature win in the
Midwest Modified division lately and Sunday night’s 25-lap main event
concluded with the same results as Prunty won his fifth straight feature.
Joey Bentfield and Wes Biswell led at the green flag and the outside lane
proved to be the quick one as Biswell, Steve Huelsbeck, and Prunty all shot
into the first three spots while Bentfield battled with Steven Schulz and
Jason Feyereisen over the fourth position. Biswell paced the first two laps
before Huelsbeck took to the outside, completing the pass for the lead on
lap three while Prunty also worked the outer groove and worked his way
around Biswell for second place. Huelsbeck showed the way for eight more
laps before Prunty pulled alongside on lap 12. Prunty and Huelsbeck raced
side by side with Prunty working the high side and Huelsbeck staying down
low until Prunty eventually eased ahead with a good run off the corner on
lap 14. Matt Pate’s car suddenly erupted in flames on the frontstretch on
lap 16 and the field was stopped under the red flag as the track was cleaned
from the incident. Prunty chose the inside for the restart and he again shot
out front as racing resumed. Huelsbeck was not as fortunate as he lost
ground on the outside as Biswell, Schulz, and Ron Schmitt all got by to move
into the second through fourth spots. Prunty charged to his fifth straight
feature win as Biswell and Schulz finished second and third respectively.
Schmitt came home in the fourth spot while Jason Feyereisen finished fifth.
Steve Huelsbeck was the winner of the Midwest Modified fast dash and Prunty
was the fastest qualifier at 12.373 seconds.

Dale Prunty and Steve Huelsbeck mirrored their battle for the track
championship as they fought for the victory in the 25-lap Midwest Modified
feature as Prunty came away with the win.
The outside lane edged ahead on the start as Huelsbeck took the top spot
over Prunty, Biswell, and Jason Feyereisen. Prunty took to the outside while
Huelsbeck held the inside as the two raced side-by-side for the lead.
Huelsbeck was able to maintain the lead as Prunty continued to apply the
pressure from the outside. Joey Bentfield spun into the turn three wall on
lap 15 to bring out the caution flag as Huelsbeck and Prunty continued their
battle as racing resumed. Prunty kept to the outside and began to slowly
inch ahead as Huelsbeck continued to race on the inside. Prunty took the
lead on lap 18 and charged ahead to take the win. Huelsbeck finished a
strong second while Wes Biswell and Ron Schmitt finished third and fourth
respectively. Jason Feyereisen finished fifth.
Steve Huelsbeck won the Midwest Modified fast dash and Prunty set fast time
at 12.388 seconds.

3 FEATURE WINS IN A ROW... CAN HE GO FOR 4??
Dale Prunty held off Wes Biswell to win the 25-lap Midwest Modified
feature.
Joey Bentfield led the way to the green flag and he quickly jumped out front
while Joe Ostermann and Jason Feyereisen disputed second place. Dale Prunty,
Wes Biswell, Ron Schmitt, and Steve Huelsbeck all raced hard behind them.
Bentfield increased his lead while Feyereisen tried to work his way around
Ostermann, finally settling on the inside lane on lap ten. The move proved
costly as Ostermann checked up exiting turn four, forcing Feyereisen to slow
and allowing Prunty and Biswell to race by on the outside and into second
and third place respectively. Once into second, Prunty tracked down
Bentfield, moving to the inside on lap eleven to complete the pass for the
lead. Biswell followed the move a lap later and advanced to second place
while Schmitt battled Feyereisen and Huelsbeck over third place as Bentfield
faded on the outside. At the halfway mark, Prunty led Biswell while
Huelsbeck took sole possession of third place ahead of Feyereisen and
Schmitt. With five laps to go, Feyereisen spun across the front stretch, but
the race remained under the green flag as Schmitt moved to fourth place.
Prunty could not be caught in the final laps and he drove to the win ahead
of Biswell and Huelsbeck while Schmitt crossed the line in fourth place with
Jon Kruschel finishing fifth.
Earlier, Feyereisen won the Midwest Modified fast dash and Prunty was the
fastest qualifier at 12.359 seconds.

Dale Prunty was on the marks for a green-white-checkered restart and led
the final two circuits to win the 25-lap Midwest Modified feature.
John Kruschel led the field to the green flag and quickly established
himself as the early leader while Jason Feyereisen worked the outside lane
in second place. Ron Schmitt, Dale Prunty, and Steve Huelsbeck raced in
formation behind the top duo while Kruschel continued to lead. Feyereisen’s
attempts on the outside eventually began to fade as Schmitt, Prunty, and Wes
Biswell worked the inside and into second through fourth place respectively.
Kruschel was able to maintain his lead as Prunty moved around Schmitt for
second place after dispatching Biswell for third. Feyereisen and Huelsbeck
became hooked together on lap 23 with the end result being Huelsbeck
smacking the frontstretch wall and bringing out the caution. Kruschel chose
the inside for the restart but he was no match for Prunty, who charged into
the lead as racing resumed. Biswell also made his way around Kruschel and
tried to catch Prunty for the lead. Prunty charged ahead and took the win
over Biswell while Kruschel finished in third place. Ron Schmitt and Joe
Ostermann completed the top five finishers.
Jason Feyereisen won the Midwest Modified dash and Dale Prunty toured the
speedway in 12.273 seconds and was the fastest qualifier.

to take command of the event on lap two. Prunty and Wes Biswell began to
thread their way forward and into the top five a few laps later while Steve
Huelsbeck and Jason Feyereisen followed. Prunty used the outside lane to
track down Kruschel for the lead, making his move down the backstretch on
lap six. Biswell worked his way into second place soon thereafter while Ron
Schmitt entered the battle for third with Feyereisen and Huelsbeck. Once out
front, Prunty was able to cruise to the win while Biswell took the checkered

SLINGER NATIONALS
For the Nationals Dennis Prunty let Dale drive his blue #42 Late Model.
Dale qualified with an 11.619 which was a good effort but not enough when
competing against 51 other cars. He drove the semi-feature and did a
great job of keeping the car in one piece. He finished the race in 6th
place.

Slinger Speedway - Slinger, WI
Ken Wills guest-drove Joe Houpt’s car to an intense and exciting win in
the 20-lap Midwest Modified feature, edging Jason Feyereisen at the
checkered flag.
Wills quickly took command of the event from pole-sitter Joey Bentfield
while Dale Prunty, Feyereisen, Steve Huelsbeck, and Wes Biswell all were
knotted up behind the leaders in a tightly bunched pack. As Wills continued
to hold the top spot, the racing behind him heated up as Feyereisen fought
his way to second place by lap seven just ahead of Prunty and Huelsbeck
while Biswell and Ron Schmitt were close behind. Feyereisen looked to the
high groove in a bid for the lead at the halfway point, but Wills remained
tough down low and the two raced door to door while Huelsbeck, Prunty,
Biswell, and Schmitt raced in double-file formation behind them. The top six
cars ran two-by-two for the final ten laps as neither lane could muster up
enough of an advantage to complete the pass. At the stripe, Wills used a
strong run off turn four to edge Feyereisen for the win while Huelsbeck
nipped Prunty for third place. Biswell finished in fifth.
Wills also was victorious in the Midwest Modified fast dash and Biswell set
the mark in qualifying after touring the speedway in 12.510 seconds.

Jason Feyereisen took the lead of the Midwest Modified feature at the
halfway mark when leader Eddie Bentfield bobbled off of turn two. Feyereisen
controlled the rest of the race to score the win.
Midwest Modified point leader Steve Huelsbeck charged to the runner-up spot
while Wes Biswell, fast qualifier Ron Schmitt and Bentfield rounded out the
top five.
Just one caution flag slowed the Modified feature. That occurred at lap 10
when Ron Schmidt spun out defending track champion Dale Prunty. Dale
had a flat tire and had to leave the track. He came back a couple laps
down, but was able to finish the race.

Wes Biswell nailed down his second feature win of the year, taking top
honors in the 25-lap Midwest Modified main event.
Eddie Bentfield charged to the lead at the start and maintained the top spot
for the first seven laps before Joe Houpt was able to pass by to take
command of the event. Biswell worked his way into the second spot by lap ten
while Steve Huelsbeck, Jason Feyereisen, and Dale Prunty all battled for
third place on back. Biswell began to pressure Houpt for the lead, taking
the position on lap 12 while Huelsbeck, Prunty, and Feyereisen continued
their fight for third place. Biswell extended his lead over Houpt while
Huelsbeck, Prunty, and Feyereisen swapped positions in the closing laps. At
the finish, Biswell crossed the line first to record his second feature win
of the season while Houpt took the checkered flag in second. Feyereisen made
a late charge to snag third place while Huelsbeck and Prunty completed the
top five finishers.

Steve Huelsbeck used the outside lane to take the lead late in the event en
route to victory in the 20-lap Midwest Modified feature.
Joe Houpt paced the beginning circuits while John Kruschell and Wes Biswell
settled into second and third respectively. Houpt and Kruschell battled
side-by-side for the lead over the first ten laps while Biswell ran directly
behind them, looking for a way to get by. On lap eleven, Kruschell had to
check up slightly in turn four as Biswell and Huelsbeck took advantage of
the situation and took over second and third respectively. A lap later,
Biswell also used the outside to take command of the race and Huelsbeck
worked his way into second place. Huelsbeck then was able to move to the
outside of Biswell and gradually began to edge ahead as Biswell’s car
appeared to skate slightly off the corners. Huelsbeck took the top spot with
two laps to go but couldn’t shake Biswell who continued to work the inside.
On the final lap, Huelsbeck pushed up a bit in the final corner, opening the
door for Biswell to make a final challenge that came up just short at the
stripe as Huelsbeck took the win. Biswell finished a close second while Dale
Prunty worked his way up from the back to come home in third place. Ron
Schmitt was fourth and Jason Feyereisen was fifth.
Earlier, Schmitt won the Midwest Modified fast dash and Feyereisen was the
fastest qualifier at 12.297 seconds.

You just never know which of the Prunty cars are going to show up at the
track. This week Dale brought both his Modifieds and let Dennis drive
the yellow #17 and Dale drove the brand new orange #17...
Ron Schmitt took top honors in the 25-lap Midwest Modified feature.
Dennis Prunty led the beginning laps as he battled side by side with Schmitt
in the early going as Jason Feyereisen and Steve Huelsbeck. A tangle between
John Kruschell and Joey Bentfield in turn three on lap seven brought out the
yellow flag with Dennis Prunty leading Schmitt and Feyereisen. Schmitt
worked his way by Prunty on lap eight while Huelsbeck also advanced forward,
taking second place on lap ten. With Schmitt and Huelsbeck out front, Wes
Biswell worked his way forward into third place on lap 11 while Dale Prunty
joined the top five. As Huelsbeck and Biswell fought hard for second place,
Schmitt extended his advantage. With Schmitt pulling farther away, the
battle for second expanded to four cars as Dale Prunty and Feyereisen joined
Huelsbeck and Biswell as the laps ticked down. Schmitt charged to the win
while at the line, Dale Prunty nipped Biswell for second place. Huelsbeck
finished in fourth place and Feyereisen was fifth.
Schmitt also was the winner of the Midwest Modified fast dash and Huelsbeck
was the fastest qualifier at 12.293 seconds.

Ron Schmitt dominated the caution free Midwest Modified 20 lap feature. Joey
Bentfield took the early lead and held the point, as Ron Schmitt darted
through the field. By lap 4, Schmitt overtook the top spot. On the same lap,
Bentfield’s car wiggled a bit, and Jason Feyereisen and Dale Prunty worked
their way into second and third place. The trio of Schmitt, Feyereisen and
Prunty pulled away from the rest of the field building a ten-car length lead
by the time the checkered flag flew. Schmitt was followed by Feyereisen,
Prunty, Steve Huelsbeck and John Kruschel, who rounded out the top five.
Steve Huelsbeck was the winner of the Midwest Modified fast dash and Jason
Feyereisen was the fastest qualifier after turning in a lap of 12.500

May 21st, 2006; Slinger Speedway -
Steve Huelsbeck edged Ron Schmitt to pick up the victory in the 20-lap
Midwest Modified feature.
Matt Pate led the opening laps as Eddie Bentfield battled alongside while
Dale Prunty and Jason Feyereisen pressured the lead duo. By lap five, Prunty
was able to work the outside to grab the lead as Huelsbeck weaved his way
forward to take over second place just ahead of Feyereisen and Pate. Three
laps later, Huelsbeck took to the outside and raced wheel-to-wheel with
Prunty for the lead. Huelsbeck and Prunty battled side-by-side during the
middle stages with Huelsbeck able to barely snag the lead on lap 11. Eddie
Bentfield experienced mechanical problems on lap 12 just in front of the
leaders and Prunty found himself caught up in Bentfield’s misfortune,
cutting down and tire and spinning as the caution flag flew.
Huelsbeck led Ron Schmitt on the restart and Schmitt immediately began to
look to the high side, pulling alongside momentarily before getting loose in
the fourth turn and allowing Hueslbeck to skate out front. Schmitt regained
his composure and once again tracked down Huelsbeck in the waning laps,
moving alongside with three laps to go. Huelsbeck and Schmitt staged a
classic side by side duel for the win with Huelsbeck taking the victory by
inches over Schmitt. Joe Houpt finished a strong third while Joey Bentfield
and Prunty rounded out the top five finishers.
Prunty took the checkered flag in the Midwest Modified fast dash and Schmitt
set fast time after touring the speedway in 12.425 seconds.

May 7th, 2006; Slinger
Speedway - Joel Houpt charged to his first Slinger Midwest Modified
feature win, holding off Steve Huelsbeck and Dale Prunty at the finish of
the 25-lap main event.
Matt Pate paced the early going as Joey Bentfield, Bill Tandetzke, Ron
Schmitt, and Houpt all scrambled for positions behind him. Houpt made the
most forward progress as he advanced from his fifth starting position to
take the lead by lap ten while Huelsbeck also charged from deep in the field
to take second place while Pate battled with Jason Feyereisen and Schmitt
for third place. The race was slowed under the caution flag on lap 15 as the
tussle for third place ended with Pate, Feyereisen, and Schmitt tangled
together against the third turn wall. As racing resumed, Huelsbeck made
several attempts to pass Houpt for the lead, but Houpt would not be denied
the victory and he held on to take the checkered flag for the win. Huelsbeck
finished in second ahead of Dale Prunty and John Kruschel. Bill Tandetzke
finished in fifth place.
Houpt also picked up the win in the Midwest Modified fast dash and
Feyereisen set fast time at 12.388 seconds.

if needed. After the qualifying race he will leave and go to Slinger hoping
to be on his way to Slinger by 4:30 p.m. to make qualifying at Slinger with
the white car.

April 23, 2006; Slinger Speedway - Dale
Prunty raced to the win in the 35-lap Midwest Modified feature. Terry
Helmbrecht and Bill Tandetzke led the field to the green and Helmbrecht
edged out front while Tandetzke battled for second with John Kruschel. A
quick caution flag appeared on lap two when Joey Bentfield spun in turn
three and as racing resumed, Tandetzke looked to the outside of Helmbrecht
for the lead as Prunty moved up into third place followed closely by Ron
Schmitt and Steve Huelsbeck. Tandetzke used the outside to take the top spot
on lap nine, bringing Prunty with him and into second place.
A lap later,
Prunty also used the high side to race around Tandetzke to take command of
the race as Steve Schulz stalled on lap 11 to bring out the caution flag.
Back under green, Prunty pulled away while Schmitt and Tandetzke fought for
second place. On lap 13, Tandetzke drifted high exiting turn two while
Schmitt was looking to the outside to pass and Tandetzke spun down the
backstretch, putting the field under yellow for a third time. As racing
resumed, the closest racing was for second on back as Prunty had a healthy
lead while Schmitt tried to hold off Kruschel and Huelsbeck. Kruschel and
Huelsbeck ran side-by-side for the third spot and the hard racing between
them cut down a tire on Huelsbeck’s car, sending him hard into the wall in
turn one on lap 15. Prunty led Schmitt and Jason Feyereisen on the restart
and those three moved ahead of the rest of the field during the closing
laps. Prunty held off Schmitt to take the win while Feyereisen finished a
close third. James Poleske crossed the finish line in fourth place while
early leader Terry Helmbrecht finished in fifth. Earlier, Huelsbeck turned
in a qualifying lap of 12.233 seconds to become the afternoon’s fastest
qualifier.
