Career Highlights

Racing is nothing new to the Prunty's, that's for sure.  Dale grew up with four brothers that either have raced, still race or help work on the race cars.  So as you can imagine, he started working on cars and helping out in the garage at a very young age.  Dale's career started out by racing an Enduro race at Slinger Speedway in 1997... then he was hooked.

In 1998, Dale raced his first season in the #42 Street Stock at Slinger Speedway in the Slinger Stinger Street Stock Division.  He did very well by finishing 3rd in overall points and was also awarded the "Rookie of the Year".

Then in 1999, it was time to move on to bigger and better things.  Dale bought the #17 Midwest Modified to race at Slinger Speedway.  Here we would race side-by-side with his brother Dennis in the #1 Modified.  Once again, he did very well finishing 4th in overall points and was awarded the "Rookie of the Year" title in the Modified division.  Dale's brother Dennis dominated the Modified division that year and finished the season with his first Midwest Modified Track Championship.

The 2000 season brought on new challenges.  Dale decided he would race both Slinger Speedway and also Madison International Speedway.  This definitely made for a busy summer.  He would spend most of his weekend either in the garage or on the track.  Dale raced the car on Friday night with the Madison setup, and then would spend Saturday switching it over to the Slinger setup for Sunday.

It all paid off in the end as he was crowned the Midwest Modified "Track Champion" at Madison International Speedway.  Dale dominated the Midwest Modified division at MIS.  He never finished lower than 3rd place all season.  He was awarded the "Hard Charger" Award for passing the most cars throughout the season and was also awarded another "Rookie of the Year" title.

Once again, Dennis was very strong at Slinger.  He finished with a consecutive Track Championship.  Dale finished 4th in overall points.  Dale even helped Dennis out one night by letting him race his car at Slinger after Dennis had wrecked his car at Madison the Friday before.  Dale forfeited his points for the night to help Dennis keep his lead in the point standings.

In 2001, Dale continued to race in the Modified division at Slinger and on occasion at Madison.  Dale claimed a "clean sweep" at Madison by setting fast time, winning the heat race and also the feature in the same night.  He ended up with 2 fast times and 4 top 5’s out of 4 races at Madison.  He also had a winning season at Slinger with 16 top 5 finishes, 3 feature wins, 2 trophy dash wins as well as 9 fast times.  Dale also continues to help out his brother's David and Dennis who are both in the Late Model Division.

The 2002 season was a very challenging one that’s for sure.  Even though Dale led the points for most of the season, the point’s race actually came down to the final night of racing.  Dan Jung won the championship by just 18 points and Dale was the runner up.  The 2002 season is was what racing is all about….drama and excitement!  Dale had a great season with 16 Top 5 finishes including 7 feature wins, and one Trophy Dash win along with setting fast time 8 times.  Dale also went to the Dells Motor Speedway for two events.  Finishing 2nd in the race in May and taking home a Feature win in at the end of September for their fall special.

In 2003, Dale dominated the Modified division with 11 Fast Times, 8 Feature Wins and 4 Fast Dash Wins.  After 2 very disappointing years, his hard work had finally paid off and earned himself the Slinger Speedway Midwest Modified Track Champion award.  He continues to hold this title today as he is the reigning 4-Time Track Champion.

2007 will bring new challenges as Dale moves up to the Super Late Model division at the Slinger Speedway to contend for the Rookie of the Year title.  He will continue to drive his Modified every other week.    He will also be making an appearance at the Milwaukee Mile's Governor's Cup in August.  Dale is looking forward to an exciting 2007 racing season.

Thanks again for everyone’s continued support.  We look forward to seeing you at the races this season!
